Fair to instructors
We don't sell subscriptions, because paying instructors by minutes watched across a whole platform tends to earn them very little. Instead you earn a much more generous share of every sale than some similar platforms offer. You keep full ownership of your work, and our agreement is non-exclusive, so you can publish it elsewhere too.
We protect human creativity
We exist to help people build real creative skill through human instruction. We use AI only to make human-taught courses available across languages, and we will never endorse generative AI as a substitute for creativity.
Designed to bridge the gap between watching and learning
Watching an expert at work feels like progress, but skill only builds when students attempt the work themselves, find out how it went and adjust. Research into how experts are made, set out in Peak by Anders Ericsson and Robert Pool, calls this purposeful practice. We work with every instructor to build it into their teaching from the start.

A video course on Prentora is a pre-recorded course in your creative discipline, built around exercises that take students from watching you work to doing it themselves.
Earn for the life of your course
You earn 70% of net revenue on every sale for as long as your course stays on Prentora, and 85% when a student buys through your own referral link. You set the price.
You keep full ownership
Our agreement is non-exclusive, so you can publish the same course on other platforms too. Update it, leave it, or take it down when you want.

How it works
There's no rush at any stage. Some instructors launch within weeks, others take months. We work at your pace.
Live classes
A live class on Prentora is a one-off session or a semester of sessions that you teach live, using whichever video platform you like. Prentora takes on the admin of running it, from applications and payments to scheduling and refunds, so your time goes into teaching. Live classes are listed and taught in one language, and aren't translated.
Ask what you need to know
Build an application form for your class with whatever you need from potential students, from their experience and what they hope to learn to a link to their portfolio or a few images of their work.
If you teach on Discord, students sign in with Discord so their username is verified, and any email address a student shares with you is verified by Prentora too.
Choose who joins your class
Your class is listed in front of people already on Prentora to learn a creative skill. Applications arrive in one place, and you accept, shortlist or decline each one.
Customize your acceptance and rejection emails, or leave them to Prentora.
No more chasing payments
Students pay on a schedule you set, straight into your own Stripe account. Payments are collected automatically, and students are asked to update their card if one fails.
Choose which payment options to offer, from paying upfront to paying per session. Students make their first payment when they accept your offer, which secures their place.
One page for every session
Students see each session in their own time zone, with calendar entries and reminders sent for them. Share files to prepare with beforehand, release others once the session ends, and keep an attendance register as you go.
If you need to move a session, everyone is notified and their calendars update, and anyone who can't make the new time is refunded for it automatically.
You can also upload recordings for students to stream or download. This helps ensure only enrolled students can access the videos, compared to an easily-shareable unlisted video on YouTube or elsewhere.
Cancellations and disputes, covered
Students agree to clear booking terms when they pay, and refunds are worked out session by session. If a payment is ever disputed, download an evidence pack with everything Stripe asks for.
Fill your next semester
When a semester ends, your students are invited to leave a review, and you can reply to each one. Your reviews build up on your instructor profile.
Between semesters, students can join your class's interest list and are emailed when the next one opens. You can also invite past students or your own following before opening it to everyone.
Send announcements to your whole class by email and browser notification, and link students to wherever your community talks, like WhatsApp or Slack. If you use Discord, Prentora can add students to your server and give them the right role once they've paid.
Prentora takes 5% of each student payment to offer this service. There are no other fees, no up-front costs and no subscription charges. If you refund a student, we return our fee on the refunded amount.
Live classes with Prentora are currently only available to instructors based in the UK, the EU and EEA, Switzerland, the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong, due to payment processor rules for this kind of offering. We're looking into how we can support instructors in the rest of the world. This restriction only applies to instructors. Your students can be based anywhere in the world.
